What is the difference between PG-240 and PG 240XL?
Emily Phillips 240 (Black Cartridge) & (240xl) Black Cartridge are both manufactured by Canon, the difference is that with the XL (extended Life) gets about 1/3 more copies. I would NOT get a 240 cartridge, if you don’t want to get annoyed because the lack of black ink. PG 240xl purports to hold more ink.

Hi, you cannot use a PG-240 in place of a PG-245. The two inks are compatible with a different range of printers. It definitely refilled my ink and prints just fine.
